LFor this project, I created a fashion magazine layout for Frankie Magazine that targets young creatives, majority of them being females who are interested in design, art, fashion, real-life stories, and photography.
Concept
Fashion has a voice — it is used as a communication tool to express one’s story
Goal
To design a double-page magazine spread with attention to typography and grids in editorial design
Challenge
To apply the design across multiple platforms from print to web, tablet, and phone
Process
For the layout I looked at the silhouette of the photos for cues on how to present the text. With this in mind, I allowed the type to follow the model’s figure — it’s subtle at first but noticeable upon further inspection. This supports the concept of how fashion is self-reflective; it is about digging deeper and understanding that our fashion choices are more than just clothes — they have sentimental stories attached to them, hence the headline
“What story are you wearing?”
